About

Where to begin, where to begin?
Let's start with the here and now before we delve in to my past. :)

I am the wife of an awesome man, a US Marine. We recently had our 11 year wedding anniversary, wow! Time flies when you're in great company. He's the love of my life and I am so thankful he loves me and supports me in everything I do, and through all my crazy quirks ... and trust me I have plenty enough to keep things interesting, and him on his toes!

We are blessed with 3 amazing, highly active, homeschooled, children: JBug, Missy, and Little Man.

We recently became a chicken-loving family! We have 3 girls in our urban, backyard, coop. Buttercup, Millie, and Meep. RIP Izzy. We love them dearly and love their eggs. Yummy!

I didn't inherit my Grandmother's artistic skills. I'm no marathon runner. And I wouldn't win a round of American Idol anytime this century.

But I do love to sew, craft, and build things!

Sewing is my therapy. It calms me down, makes me feel like I am finally accomplished something for the day, and I just love seeing happy faces when I give the children something I've made just for them. It warms the heart.

However, whomever said "Sewing is cheaper than therapy", hasn't seen my fabric and tag stash! Lol! Oh well, it's all good. ;)

As for my past:

  • I was born and raised in South Africa!
  • My family all lived (actually my parents still do for now - know anyone that wants to buy a farm?!) on my Granny's pineapple farm, but from Gr3 - 12 I attended boarding school in the nearby town, followed by a year diploma course at college.
  • Then I came to USA as an AU Pair.
  • I unexpectedly met the most amazing man, and *poof*, suddenly it's 10 years, 3 kids, 6 homes, and 4 chickens later! ;) And I wouldn't change my decision to live my life with this awesome man for all the tea in China!
